Fast, safe and convenient are words that describe the parking experience at BWI.

The Maryland Aviation Administration owns and operates Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport (BWI). Through a partnership between PMI and Tyroc Construction, LLC, Maryland Parking, LP manages airport parking.

BWI Airport offers more than 32,000 public parking spaces with reasonable parking fees. Below are facts about parking at BWI.
Main Terminal Garage Parking
The multi-level garage is conveniently located in front of the terminal and provides 4,600 public parking spaces. For your convenience, both covered walkways and a tunnel connect the garage to the terminal. The first 1/2 hour of parking is free, making the garage ideal for short-term parkers who are dropping off or picking up travelers.

NEW SERVICE - Pay in the Terminal

(Main Terminal Garage & Daily Garage parking)
Take your parking ticket with you, and pay either inside the terminal or Daily Bus Shelters at the Pay-on-Foot stations. Both garages offer optional express lanes for faster exiting. After payment, 30 minutes free time is provided to exit the garage.

Express Service Parking (ESP)
The ESP lot offers personalized parking services and over 1,400 parking spaces. It is located at Aviation Boulevard and Elm Road, 1/2 mile from the main terminal. An express service shuttle picks you up at your vehicle, and drives you directly to the terminal free-of-charge 24 hours/day. Accessible vans are available for persons with a disability. Upon request, the driver will help you with your luggage.

Long Term Parking
BWI's Long Term parking lots can accommodate 10,000 vehicles. The lots are on Aviation Boulevard (Maryland Route 162) and are approximately two miles from the terminal. Long Term Parking offers low rates and free shuttle service between the lots and the terminal. Shuttle service runs approximately every 10-15 minutes 24 hours/day. When parking, plan to arrive at the airport at least three hours before the scheduled flight departure for domestic trips, and four hours for international trips.

Daily Garage Parking
Daily Parking has 8,400 spaces. This new garage is located on Elm Road and Aviation Blvd. The free shuttle runs every 8-12 minutes 24 hours/day.

Shuttle Service
The shuttle bus service at BWI Airport is operated by First Transit. Patrons with questions or suggestions about the shuttle bus service may contact First Transit’s manager at 410-684-3346.

Vehicles parked for more than one day will pay the maximum rate for each full day or part of a day spent on the lot.

Holiday Parking
During peak travel periods, BWI’s 32,000 public parking spaces can fill to capacity. If this occurs, BWI has additional overflow parking spaces to compensate. Overflow parking will be available at reduced rates, and as similar under normal circumstances, free shuttle service is provided. Travelers should tune to BWI Radio (1040 AM)
and look for road-side signs about current parking information. As with Long Term parking, you are advised to allow plenty of time to get to the terminal.

Parking for People with Disabilities
Spaces for persons with vehicles displaying the international symbol of accessibility are clearly marked and are available in all lots and garages. Spaces in the Main Terminal Garage are only located near the elevators and pedestrian ramps on the 5th level. Spaces in the Daily Garage are only located on the 2nd level. Spaces on surface lots are located next to all shuttle stops. Shuttle stops are equipped with accessible shelters and telephones.

BWI Radio – 1040 AM
For the latest information on road and lot closures and locations of overflow parking, tune in to 1040 AM, BWI’s official radio station, when approaching
the airport.

Variable Message Signs
To further assist you, BWI has electronic variable message signs located along roadways leading to the airport. These signs will provide you with current parking information.

Payment of Parking Fees
Parking fees are collected as travelers exit the parking lot or garage. Fees may be paid by cash, traveler's check, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, MasterCard or Visa. Machine receipts are generated for each transaction. Payment issues should be reported to the Airport Parking Manager at 410-859-9230 or 1-800-GO-TO-BWI.
